Cargo Edition
Cargo Edition was established by DJ and producer Matthias Tanzmann as a sub-label of Moon Harbour Recordings in 2006. Based in Leipzig, it has made its name releasing top quality house and techno, both on vinyl and digitally.
While Cargo Edition was originally launched to broaden the stylistic spectrum of Moon Harbour, it has in fact developed into an independent platform with its own style. This style is predominantly driven by the label's established and illustrious stock of artists, including Michael Melchner, Vera Heindel, Ekkohaus, Sven Tasnadi, Markus Schatz and Juno6. Stylistically the label’s sound ranges from the multilayered and melodious tracks of Sven Tasnadi and Juno6, to the functional house of Ekkohaus, the detailed aesthetics of Michael Melchner's productions to the reduced dry sounds of Vera. A&R of Cargo Edition Matthias Tanzmann hasn’t just left the artists up to their own devices, contributing his own original and remix work to the label as well.
